Medical school prepares you for exams. Nobody prepares you for this.

The Malaysian public hospital has an invisible curriculum — unwritten rules, unspoken hierarchies, and systems knowledge that separates housemen who thrive from those who break down.

  • ⚠️
You don't know who actually holds powerThe org chart is not the power map. Navigating ward hierarchy wrong in week one sets a tone that follows you for months.
  • 📋
Nobody taught you how to document defensivelyA poorly written clinical note at 2am can become a complaint, a disciplinary inquiry, or a court exhibit.
  • 🧠
Your mind is not prepared for shift work realitySleep deprivation impairs clinical judgment measurably. No one gave you tools to manage your own cognition under pressure.
  • 🗺️
You have no career map beyond housemanshipSpecialisation. Private practice. Contract permanency. Emigration. These decisions begin from Month 1.

Malaysian medical graduates are actively planning to emigrate — most cite burnout from a system they were never prepared to navigate.

7 Modules. Everything the system knows but never taught you.

Built for the waiting period nobody warned you about.

The 3–6 months between graduating and reporting to your first posting is the most important window you have. This is when Houseman Ready is designed to be taken.

Awaiting Housemanship Posting
You have graduated, passed, and are waiting. You have time, anxiety, and zero formal preparation for what comes next. This course was made specifically for you.

You watched your child study for years. This course is the most practical gift you can give them before they report to their first posting.
This course is NOT for

Practising MOs or specialists seeking CME points — this is a systems navigation programme, not a clinical refresher. It is not a substitute for your medical school curriculum or formal clinical supervision.

Built by someone inside the system — who then studied it from the outside.

MMC Registered

Houseman Ready was designed and delivered by Dr Ming C — a licensed Malaysian medical practitioner registered with the Malaysian Medical Council, with clinical and educational experience inside the MOH system and postgraduate qualifications in both medical education and public health.

The credential combination behind this course is deliberately rare — and unreplicable by generic coaching platforms:

  • MBBS — Licensed Medical Practitioner (MMC) — Clinical training and ward experience inside the Malaysian public hospital system. This course is built from the inside, not observed from outside.
  • Master in Medical Education (MMedEd) — The curriculum is structured using evidence-based adult learning principles. This is deliberate pedagogy — not a collection of tips assembled into slides.
  • Master in Public Health (MPH) — The systemic analysis of Malaysian healthcare in this course is population-level, evidence-grounded thinking applied to your specific career context.
  • Certified Hypnotherapist — The performance psychology tools in Module 5 are clinically grounded. No other medical educator in Malaysia teaching in this space holds this qualification.

★★★★★

"I wish this existed when I was waiting for my posting. The module on ward hierarchy alone saved me from at least three disasters in my first week. Nobody tells you any of this."

★★★★★

"Module 5 changed how I approach on-call shifts. The pre-call reset protocol sounds simple but the difference in how I think under pressure is genuinely noticeable."

★★★★★

"The legal module opened my eyes. I had no idea what an incident report was supposed to contain. Every houseman needs to know this before they start."

Questions, answered directly.

Is this course only useful before housemanship?+
No. While designed for the pre-housemanship window, the content on legal obligations, communication frameworks, performance psychology, and career strategy is useful at any stage of early career.
Is this a clinical skills course?+
No. Houseman Ready does not teach clinical medicine, procedures, or pharmacology. This course teaches the invisible curriculum — systems navigation, professional conduct, legal awareness, communication, and performance psychology.
Why is this bilingual?+
The primary instruction is in English. BM is integrated contextually — particularly in communication scenarios involving patients and families where BM is the dominant language. This reflects the reality of the Malaysian public hospital.
How is this different from the MOH PTM programme?+
The PTM is a one-time orientation session. Houseman Ready covers seven structured modules with downloadable tools, a personal readiness plan deliverable, and ongoing access. It is a curriculum, not an orientation briefing.
I'm already in my second posting. Is it too late?+
Not at all. The systems navigation content, legal module, career architecture module, and performance psychology module remain fully applicable throughout housemanship and into your MO years.
